Eid Special-A Message from Islamic Finance Review

This entry is part 11 of 11 in the series Ramadan & Islamic Finance

Eid al-Fitr 1446 AH: Gratitude, Growth, and a New Beginning

As the crescent moon graces our skies and Ramadan gently departs, we welcome Eid al-Fitr with hearts full of gratitude, hands open in prayer, and souls renewed with purpose.

Eid is not merely a celebration—it is a culmination of spiritual effort, a time to honour the discipline, compassion, and charity we cultivated throughout the month of Ramadan. It is a day of joy, but also a day of reflection—a reminder that the values of Ramadan are meant to carry us forward, not be left behind.

From Reflection to Responsibility

Ramadan taught us the value of ethical living, intentional giving, and aligning our wealth with our worship. As we celebrate Eid, let us ask ourselves:

  • Have we purified our wealth with Zakat?
  • Have we given Sadaqah to those in need?
  • Are our financial choices a reflection of our faith?

“Whoever fasts Ramadan and follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he has fasted a lifetime.”
(Sahih Muslim, 1164)

Eid is not the end—it is the beginning of living those values throughout the year. Whether through continued acts of kindness, supporting ethical financial initiatives, or nurturing communities through Islamic finance, let us carry forward the spirit of Ramadan into Shawwal and beyond.

Celebrating Eid the Halal Way

Enjoying Eid does not mean excess—it means balance. Whether you’re gifting, shopping, or sharing meals, remember that halal earning and responsible spending bring barakah to our celebrations.

If you’re looking to make your Eid purchases with ethical intent, support Muslim-owned businesses, local artisans, and fair-trade brands. Let our consumption reflect our convictions.

A Dua for the Ummah

On this day of joy, we remember those who are struggling:

  • Families facing conflict and hardship
  • Communities affected by poverty and displacement
  • Our brothers and sisters awaiting justice, peace, and relief

May Allah accept our prayers, forgive our shortcomings, and grant peace, prosperity, and unity to the entire Ummah.
Ameen.
