π Overview
We are pleased to invite expressions of interest for Session Chairs for the upcoming Global Islamic Finance Conference 2025, a flagship international event that promotes inclusive, ethical, and sustainable Islamic finance practices.
This hybrid conference will take place both in London and online, making it accessible to a global audience. Session Chairs may participate either in person or virtually.
As a session chair, you will lead a 90-minute academic session by coordinating speakers, moderating presentations, and driving constructive dialogue on relevant Islamic finance themes.
π― Responsibilities of a Session Chair
Propose a session aligned with the conference themes (e.g. Islamic FinTech, ESG, Shariah Governance, etc.)
Secure and confirm at least five (5) presentation submissions under your session
Moderate a 90-minute session during the conference (in person or via Zoom)
Introduce each presenter, manage timing, and lead audience interaction or Q&A
Submit a brief session summary post-conference
Nominate the best presentation(s) from your session for award and publication consideration
π§Ύ Eligibility Criteria
We welcome applications from:
Academics and researchers in Islamic finance, economics, Shariah law, or related disciplines
Hold a Ph.D. (completed prior to the application deadline) in a relevant field or postdoctoral fellows with relevant expertise
Professionals from regulatory bodies, Islamic banks, fintech firms, or NGOs
Experienced moderators or public speakers in the field of finance, policy, or sustainability
π Both in-person and online session chairs are welcome. You do not need to be physically present in London to chair a session.
π¨ Accommodation Sponsorship (In-Person Only)
Session Chairs who successfully confirm five (5) paper presentations under their session by the deadline and choose to attend in person will receive complimentary accommodation in London for the two-day event.
